In everyday life I am quiet and reserved, not the housekeeper type but cool and relaxed. I don’t get up in the morning wearing false eyelashes and I don’t wear fancy underwear when I’m cooking popcorn. I’m a nice little ducky. ~ Madonna

False eye lashes are pretty amazing. Anyone that has worn them is hard pressed to deny that they do phenomenal things to your eyes and general appearance.

But getting those suckers on is a totally different story.

I, like many, have always turned to a professional at a make up counter or a girlfriend with a flair for make-up, thank you Valeh. I’m just not that great at many “girly” things.  I lack patience and have eyes that water in away that is similar to Niagara Falls.  It’s hard to apply anything when everything is soaking wet!

Since I am in London, Ontario as a surprise for my sister’s birthday, I decided to bring her in on my ’52 New’ for this week, so my sister and I set out to learn how to apply false eye lashes!

Don’t refer to them as “falsies”!  Turns out that is something entirely different!

We went to the MAC counter at The Bay in Masonville Mall and purchased lashes that were of average length and sought the advice of Steph Brown who wrote out a list of instructions for us:

1. Apply liner and mascara.
2. Apply glue to base of lash. (This would be the base of the false eyelash NOT your eyelash.)
3. Set fake lash on real lash.
4. Pinch together.
5. Retrace liner to hide dry glue.
6. Bat your gorgeous lashes.

Sounds pretty straightforward eh? Watch the video to see how this one turned out... I wish I had enough time to show you the out-takes! TOO funny. I have a hunch when these 52 weeks are done the blooper reel will be a classic!

Enjoy!!
